Event details

LASALLE’s Year 1 BA (Hons) Fine Arts cohort comprises a kaleidoscope of diverse students, each unique and distinct. Despite their differences, they have managed to grow and bond — their individual practices merging and melding to influence each other in novel ways.

Since there is no one theme that can encompass the multiple facets of the cohort’s artistic practices, the exhibition title Where Worlds Collide pays homage to the overlapping of artistic spheres, allowing the students to retain their individuality, now tenderly marked with the creative touch of friendships newly formed.

The exhibition mixes a variety of media, explored in unconventional ways and explorative visual effects and rich conceptual depth. Marvel at the manipulation of figures and forms, the vibrant synergy of colours, and the blurring of artistic boundaries. The works capture the tenacity of the students’ spirit, creative fervour of their first semester and their burning desire to create and destroy- as all artists do. Alongside finished works, take a peek at the usually hidden process of art-making through the students’ studies and research, and glimpse the labour of love that lies beneath.
