Event details

The School of Spatial and Product Design presents a showcase of works in progress by Level 1 and Level 2 students from the BA(Hons) Product Design programme. In a time of hyper fixation on digitalisation and dematerialised experiences, these projects reflect a key principle of assignment briefs that focuses on the importance of materiality and imagination in the design of emotionally durable objects.

These works range from material explorations to experimental approaches that challenge conventional notions of object meanings. Further research includes projects that speculate design and societal futures through fictional narratives and theorising within alternative and preferable scenarios. Through this walkabout, we hope you will leave with a sense of simplicity–that matter still matters in a world rife with disconnection between bodies and realities.
