Ang Qing Sheng

Qing Sheng is an artist-educator who teaches at the Puttnam School of Film & Animation.
As an academic, he has presented at various international conferences, including the ELIA Biennial Conference, Society for Animation Studies (SAS) Conferences, Animation Public Engagement Symposium (APES) and the Center for Culture and Cultural Studies (CCCS) Conference. He was also invited to speak at panels hosted by Singapore Film Society, SCAPE and Singapore Writers Festival. His academic publications include articles published in the peer-reviewed journals Animation Practice, Process & Production (Intellect) and Animation Studies (SAS).
As an educator, Qing Sheng has supervised and mentored award-winning student films and meaningful collaboration projects. Some of these projects include augmented reality activations for ARTWALK and Paris-Lyon-Singapour at Annecy International Animation Festival. He has also engaged younger students in animation when he partnered with The Filmic Eye to conduct workshops for secondary schools, as well as the senior generation at Our Animation Journey workshop sponsored by the National Arts Council.
As a filmmaker, he has received support from LASALLE, NAC, Infocomm Media Development Authority, SCAPE and Viddsee to produce animated short films. These films have won awards both locally and internationally, including Digicon6 ASIA, National Youth Film Awards, International Animation Festival Nagoya, Lugano Animation Days and Craft International Animation Festival.
As an artist, he has published a colouring book titled Picturesque Shophouses with Epigram. He has also exhibited and published several artworks with the Urban Sketchers Singapore.
In the area of sustainability, he is the winner of the City Developments Limited (CDL) E-Generation Challenge 2019 which landed him on an arctic expedition with world-renowned explorer Robert Swan. He has produced and mentored a number of eco-films with CDL and Jane Goodall Institute (Singapore) to inspire sustainable human-nature coexistence.
