Justin Hegburg | Academic Leadership & Faculty at LASALLE Singapore
Programme Leader, BA (Hons) Music Business

Justin Hegburg

JUSTIN HEGBURG
  • MA (Music Business), Berklee College of Music, US
  • MM (Music Technology), New York University, US
  • BM (Music Theory and Composition), University of Miami, US

Justin Hegburg is a professional educator, music producer, audio engineer, songwriter and composer whose work explores the intersection of technologically driven music production and authentic human expression. He currently serves as Programme Leader for the Diploma in Audio Production at LASALLE College of the Arts, where he teaches across music technology and production modules.

As a composer and producer, Justin is committed to preserving human agency in an increasingly automated creative landscape. His work emphasises the artist’s responsibility to maintain personal creativity and expressive intent—ensuring that music remains a communicative act between human beings, even as production tools evolve. In his practice, he seeks to balance technical innovation with artistic sensitivity, fostering music that resonates on both emotional and intellectual levels.

Justin works actively across commercial and experimental genres, with a particular focus on songwriting and production in pop and country music. His professional experience includes collaborations with Grammy-winning engineers and producers, and he brings this industry knowledge into the classroom to prepare the next generation of music creators.

His teaching and creative research continue to explore how artists can engage with technology not only as a tool, but as a medium for meaningful human connection.
